Giocante de Casabianca Secondary School is located right in the center of Bastia. It was founded in 1979 and provided a full education for more than 1200 students. Its name is a reference to a famous corsican heroe who died in 1798.
From seconde onwards, pupils study for their Baccalauréat: the school offers the full national curriculum for pupils generally aged 16 to 18. The lycee has a high average mark for the Baccalauréat General : more than 85 % of the students succeed in their exam.
There is also a tourism department in the school : about 50 students prepare a tourism certificate, 2 years after Baccalaureat. Studying tourism means acquiring knowledge about other people, other countries. That is why the pedagogical staff and students found it interesting to involve themselves in this european project. Doing this, they organized in school several exhibitions and conferences concerning tourism and culture.
